Your committee is pleased to announce that a further series of Coach Walks will be organised in 2018. Last year was particularly successful with new ground being broken in Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Shropshire. This year will see a similar geographic range. A core group of 11 members came on all the visits but it is good that members are able to be selective and as a result a total of 71 people joined the party at some point in 2017.
Early visits are being made to establish coach drop off points and to ensure that refreshments and toilets are available at the finishing point. These are important details for an enjoyable trip. Tetbury has been explored and looks good. Abingdon has been inspected and failed the test on the basis that the surrounding countryside does not provide sufficient variety. Clevedon is being saved for a Summer`s day. Marlow is within the frame and Ludlow may well enter the programme. Then we need to look North. A lot of exploratory work is being done.
The good news is that the cost of the coach is likely to stay much the same and this means that the cost can be kept to £12.50 for each visit. Booking will start in the New Year when a more detailed programme will be available.
